Torah Observant

For a lot of people, since we believe that the commands given through Moses in the Old Testament are still relevant for those who follow Yeshua as Messiah, it is assumed that we tell other people how to live and look down on anyone who doesn’t meet our standards or expectations.  The truth is that anyone who has time for that sort of thing isn’t taking an honest inventory of their own life.

Being Torah Observant means that as we grow closer in our relationship to God, we are growing more and more obedient to His Word.  It means that we don’t interpret the Bible in such a way that is contradictory: pitting Scripture against Scripture in such a way that one passage effectively cancels out another.  It means that as the Spirit of God reveals direction for our lives through His Word, we don't look for reasons for saying, "No," or, "That doesn't apply to me," or, "I have all that I need in my relationship with God."

We believe that God is the same from the very beginning of time until the very end.  The Word that He has given us is for our good, to teach us to walk in unity, in love and in understanding.  We don’t have to tell people what they need to change in their lives.  Believing that God truly is working in each of us, He can handle that all by Himself.  We’re just not surprised when He does.
